The unique sound of the Jaguar F-TYPE V8 motor has been recorded for preservation in the British Library archives
This year – and for at least a few to come – we will see the retirement of some of the most iconic internal-combustion engines. The Jaguar F-TYPE V8 is one such motor set to depart this world. Luckily, its ghost will live on for ever in the unlikely surroundings of the British Library. The distinctive sound has been recorded for posterity and submitted to the archives. The precise version recorded is of the one fitted to the F-Type R 75 – an apt choice to showcase and celebrate the distinctive noise of the last Jaguar combustion-engine sports car. Tearful lovers of the outgoing petrol engines can at least seek solace with a visit to the library located on Euston Road to pay tribute to their departed hero. Headphones are compulsory.
