Goodwood Revival 2022: a roaring good time

Brummell photographer Adam Whitehead captures the annual historic motoring event, which this year celebrated Graham Hill and Ferrari

This year, the Goodwood Revival, which traditionally marks the end of the automotive events season, commemorated Ferrari’s 75th anniversary with a parade of 75 of the manufacturer’s finest racing cars made between 1947 and 1966. This proved as much an audible treat as it was a visual one: highlights included Sir Jackie Stewart at the wheel of a Ferrari 250GTO, no fewer than 10 Ferrari 250 SWBs, including the car in which Sir Stirling Moss won the Goodwood TT in 1960 and ’61, and the appearance of the 1958 Testarossa that won that year’s Le Mans 24 Hours race.

What’s more, 2022 also marks 60 years since Graham Hill won his first F1 title, and in celebration, his son, Damon, the F1 world champion in 1996, took his father’s 1963 Goodwood TT-winning Ferrari 250 GTO onto the track.

Elsewhere, there were “best dressed” competitions and track races for those who had brought their finest period outfits and motors to the event, and even a UFO crash site installation in tribute to the famous Roswell incident which, like Ferrari, is enjoying its 75th anniversary.

The Goodwood Revival returns in September 2023 as part of the Estate’s programme of year-round motoring events.
