Bremont continues its partnership with Jaguar with a stylish homage to one of its most iconic designs, the C-Type
If there’s a car that represents the perfect coming-together of form and function, it’s the Jaguar C-Type. In 1948, the marque launched its first post-war sports car, the Jaguar XK120, with its successor, the XK120 C, following in 1951. A racing machine at its heart, it became renowned for its performance on the track, winning the 24-hour Le Mans race in 1951 and 1953. However, today it is just as coveted for its elegant aesthetic, defined by the fluid lines of its curvy, aerodynamic aluminium bodywork.
This iconic design provides ample inspiration for a new timepiece from Bremont, the latest in a series in partnership with the car brand that has previously celebrated the E-Type and D-Type. The watch is abundant with subtle nods to the car that will delight collectors. The sleek anodised aluminium bezel recalls the C-Type’s unmistakable silhouette, and is complemented with a silver-plated sunburst dial featuring vintage-inspired typography and the heritage Jaguar logo. The monochromatic colour scheme is punctuated by touches of red across the sub dial, taking its cues from the original Smiths gauges seen on the C-Type, while the chronograph hand echoes that seen on the original tachometer.
Finishing the motoring theme in style is the winding crown, engraved with a pattern representing the original Jaguar Dunlop tyre tread, while the vintage feel continues with the tan leather racing strap. In a detailed finishing touch, the back of the watch features a decorative coin depicting the Jaguar “Growler” hood badge.
