Bulgari’s sporty aluminium timepiece is ready for new adventures with the addition of a GMT

When it was introduced in 1998, the Bulgari Aluminium changed the notion of a traditional luxury watch, combining the brand’s high-end appeal with an urban, casual look. This was thanks to its innovative combination of materials, for the first time using lightweight aluminium topped with a sporty rubber bezel, and presented on a practical rubber strap. Speaking to its globe-trotting nature, when it launched it even featured on the livery of the Alitalia Boeing 747 jumbo jet.

The line has continued the bold, graphic aesthetic of the original, updated with new features to meet the needs of modern-day wearers. The latest sees the addition of a GMT function, carefully integrated to allow for quick and easy reading of the second time zone. This is indicated via a red-tipped hand that points to the 24-hour scale to the outer of the dial, handily divided into red and blue zones to indicate day and night. The time can be effortlessly adjusted via the crown.

Designed with travel in mind, the watch is versatile enough to suit a number of occasions whether heading off for business or pleasure. As well as its robust case and strap, it comes powered by the automatic B192 calibre, offering a power reserve of 42 hours that will survive even the longest of flights.
