Inkaterra hotels are some of the finest in Peru
Founded in 1975, Inkaterra Hotels encompasses six eco-luxury lodges and hotels in Peru. NGO Inkaterra Asociación operates research projects across the country that focus on conservation and preserving local cultures and communities.
A stay at one of its hotels funds these projects, making it an ideal choice for travellers keen to make an impact. One of Inkaterra’s most recent sustainable initiatives was the implementation of an organic waste treatment plant at Inkaterra Machu Picchu Pueblo Hotel, which has led to Machu Picchu Pueblo to become the first city in Latin America to recycle 100 per cent of its solid waste.
The plant processes several tonnes of waste every day, generating a natural fertiliser used to encourage reforestation.
