The first ‘Kirk’ frames were created in London in 1919, and the discovery of a trunk full of original frames in the Kirk archive in the early 1990s led to the launch of Kirk Originals. Taking inspiration from classic 1950s and 1960s shapes, and re-inventing them in modern materials and silhouettes, the brand soon became a cult favourite, with movers and shakers from Oasis band members to movie star Anthony Hopkins seen out and about wearing Kirk Originals. Staying true to its British manufacturing heritage, each pair of frames in the new Made in England collection is meticulously handmade here from acetate, and – from start to finish – takes a minimum of 72 hours to complete.
