Take a trip: Zenith Chronomaster Revival Safari

Zenith reinterprets its heritage-inspired Chronomaster Revival Safari in sophisticated olive green

Watches & Jewellery 16 Jun 2021

Green continues to be the watchmaking colour du jour, making its most recent outing on this safari-themed take on Zenith’s Chronomaster Revival. This heritage-inspired design is the perfect canvas for the popular shade, adding to its vintage appeal while combining with sleek design touches that lend a contemporary edge.

Its geometry and proportions are based on the watchmaker’s iconic A384 from 1969, the first watch to feature Zenith’s famous high-frequency El Primero movement. Here the case is rendered not in traditional stainless steel, but titanium, offering both improved resistance and lightweight properties. This modern look is enhanced even further with the muted, matte finish that’s entirely microblasted to stunning effect.

It provides a striking backdrop to the olive-green hues, seen across the dial, with its contrasting black counters, to the rubber and cordura-effect strap. Meanwhile, its historic roots come through in details such as the beige-coloured SuperLuminova applied to the baton markers and hands, adding an aged appearance. And in the perfect meeting of old and new, it comes powered by the El Primero chronograph calibre, which continues to evolve and improve throughout the decades.
