Tissot T-Touch Connect Solar

Since it was first introduced in 1999, Tissot’s T-Touch has led the way in stylish and practical touch-screen watches. This latest update is no exception, bringing a multitude of features that offer the practicality of a smartwatch with the look and feel of a quality Swiss-made timepiece.

Basic features include a perpetual calendar, countdown, alarms and other timekeeping features, alongside meteo and altimeter functions. There are also other modern essentials including an activity tracker and the ability to display notifications and updates from your smartphone. These are made possible through the Sw-ALPS operating system developed specifically for this project, and operated seamlessly through the watch’s tactile display. Special attention has also been paid to the important issue of data security, with all information relating to the user remaining private and stored in the T-Touch Connect Solar app.

Importantly, compared to many smartwatches on the market, the T-Touch Connect Solar doesn’t rely on time-consuming charging sessions to power up. As well as being designed with low energy consumption in mind, it is recharged via solar power using photovoltaic cells developed in Neuchâtel by the CSEM research centre. So while the timepiece comes supplied with a charger, depending on its usage and exposure to the sun, it can run for several months without being connected to a mains supply.

All these features come packaged in a sleek 47mm tough titanium case and ergonomic, scratch-resistant bezel. Add in the water resistance of 100m and it makes for a resilient watch more than prepared for the challenges of everyday wear.
