Rolex Yacht-Master 40

Designed specifically for navigators and skippers, the Rolex Yacht-Master model, launched in 1992, is Rolex’s emblematic nautical watch and is most easily recognisable by its bidirectional rotatable 60-minute graduated bezel.

Available in Rolesium, Everose Rolesor and 18ct rose gold, the Yacht-Master 40 variation is ideal for wearing in all environments both on and off the water, providing a high level of legibility in all circumstances, especially in the dark. Thanks to its luminescent Chromalight display, the hands and hour markers emit a long-lasting blue glow lasting up to twice as long as traditional phosphorescent materials.

The Oyster case is also waterproof to a depth of 100 metres (330 feet), tested using Rolex’s state-of-the-art equipment as part of an automated series of tests, which also checks the self-winding capacity and the power reserve of each watch.

Equipped with a new-generation, self-winding mechanical movement developed and manufactured by Rolex for a superlative level of performance, the Yacht-Master 40 features a calibre 3235. What’s more, both the Oyster and Oysterflex bracelets are equipped with an Oysterlock safety clasp, which prevents accidental opening no matter what situation you find yourself in – a sophisticated blend of functionality and nautical style.
