Bennett Winch is known for its expertise in the craft and design of covetable luggage bags and small leather goods. The British brand leads the field in making the finest accessories for travel that are as beautiful as they are reliable. In happy news for horology fans, Bennett Winch has just released a watch roll that owners and collectors will want to have at hand when travelling the world becomes possible again.
The handsome accessory has been developed in collaboration with watch expert and founder of Revolution magazine, Wei Koh. Having one of the watch world’s most trusted voices involved in the creation of the watch roll should be hugely reassuring to any collector. Koh has consulted on every stage of the product’s year-long development including determining the watch roll’s size, design, and the materials used.
‘We were determined to make the ultimate watch roll. Something genuinely unique and made by hand in London from the very finest materials we could source,’ says Robin Bennett, co-founder of Bennett Winch. ‘Wei was incredibly detailed about what the pain-points were with other watch storage solutions, which provided some great design cues allowing us to create something that would set a new standard for anyone travelling with watches.’
The roll is handmade in England and has been designed in a hexagonal shape to ensure it stays standing whatever way it is placed. When opened, the interior rolls out to soft, flat bed to place watches on before housing in one of three dedicated compartments on the removable central cylinder – at each stage Bennett Winch has considered how treasured timepieces should be treated with the greatest of care.
The watch roll is lined with the heat-resistant fibre Kevlar, to make it completely impervious to water as well as being extraordinarily strong, and Alcantara – a soft and durable suede-like microfiber often used in supercar interiors, and the exterior is finished in beautiful Italian leather.
