Whether for business or pleasure, travel is slowly coming back onto everyone’s agenda. And for those who haven’t had to track two time zones for a while, a precise and reliable GMT watch is just what is needed to keep your journey on schedule.
With its latest timepiece, Bell & Ross is introducing this useful complication into its 05 range for the first time. Like all of its watches, it combines modern style with a highly functional and legible design. Here the second time is effortlessly read using the red-and-white GMT hand, with the black semi-circle on the flange corresponding to the night-time hours, and the grey semicircle to the daytime hours. To accommodate this, the watch’s dimensions have been slightly enlarged into a 41mm case, making a statement on the wrist while still retaining its comfortable feel.
Speaking to Bell & Ross’s aviation inspirations, the rest of the dial similarly places a precedence on clear and practical composition. Its contemporary black-and-white colour scheme echoes that used for on-board flight instruments, while the graphic elements on the dial nod to the aesthetic of airport clocks.
This focus on ergonomics extends to the strap selection. As well as a practical rubber option, the watch comes presented on a handsome integrated metal bracelet. Its robust design seamlessly flows on from the watchmaker’s signature curved square case silhouette, with every element right down to the curvature of the bracelet carefully composed for the perfect fit.
