On your marks: Breitling Endurance Pro Ironman

The watchmaker marks a new ongoing partnership with Ironman with a special take on its versatile and robust sports watch

When Breitling introduced its rugged sports watch the Endurance Pro last year, it came with the ultimate seal of approval from some of the world’s top athletes. These included its superstar Triathlon Squad, made up of Ironman winners Jan Frodeno, Daniela Ryf and Chris McCormack. After all, who better to test out the versatility of a timepiece than the sport’s leading names, putting it through its paces across their uniquely tough and varied training.

Following in the footsteps of its popular Superocean Ironman Limited Edition in 2019, the watchmaker has cemented its ongoing partnership with the triathlon series, now becoming the Official Luxury Watch of Ironman. To celebrate, a special edition of the Endurance Pro is the logical choice, a watch both ready for any workout yet with a stylish appeal for everyday wear.

The Breitling Endurance Pro Ironman retains all the high-tech features of the original, notably its innovative case made of Breitlight. A material exclusive to the watchmaker, it has several properties that makes it particularly well suited to challenging pursuits. Despite its hard-wearing qualities and exceptional resistance to scratches and corrosion, it is incredibly lightweight, coming in at 3.3 times lighter than titanium and 5.8 times lighter than steel. Similarly, its SuperQuartz movement – the COSC-certified Breitling Caliber 82 – offers a supercharged take compared to other calibres, with 10 times the precision or regular quartz and a battery life of three-to-four years.

This new take comes in a bold black-and-red colour scheme, featuring the Ironman logos on both the dial and the caseback. And for aspiring Triathlon Squad members there’s also a special version in black and gold exclusively for those who have completed an Ironman event.
