Ball Roadmaster M Archangel

Draper Kauffman’s name has gone down in history as the forefather of the United States Navy SEALs. However his journey in underwater exploration required overcoming several obstacles. Despite his elite training he was initially denied commission into the US Navy due to his poor eyesight. After serving in the British Royal Navy Volunteer Reserve, along the way becoming highly proficient in bomb disposal technique, he finally joined the US Naval Reserve. He went on to organise the first US Navy Demolition Teams during World War II.

Ball is paying fitting tribute to his legacy with a new watch collection built to survive the toughest of underwater adventures. The Roadmaster M Archangel comes in a bold green and red design in stainless steel, along with two versions with bezels and dials in a choice of blue or black. The latter feature cases made from bronze, chosen because of its ability to withstand corrosive elements found in saltwater environments, but also because of the unique patina it develops with wear over time.

Further bolstering their diving credentials, the timepieces come equipped with Ball’s innovative micro gas tube system. This is used for the 6, 9 and 12 o’clock numerals, as well as the hour batons and hands, to ensure optimal legibility in all conditions. For added brightness, the bezel markings have also been coated in Super-LumiNova. Each of the models is water-resistant to 200m and limited to 1,000 pieces each.
