Bucherer’s Blue collection takes the luxury retailer’s signature colour and expresses it across a series of special limited-edition timepieces created with some of watchmaking’s finest names. And it’s a particularly fitting hue for Blancpain and its famous Fifty Fathoms Bathyscaphe, which has long had a deep connection with the oceans.
The watch was developed in the 1950s by the then CEO of Blancpain, Jean-Jacques Fiechter, himself a keen diver. An answer to the technical military diver’s watches of the time, this handsome, practical watch was smaller in size and hardy enough for both recreational and more extreme underwater adventures.
This latest iteration is decked out in an alluring tone of blue created by Blancpain for the design. Its clean, sunburst-finish dial and bezel strikes a contrast against the case, crafted from contemporary black ceramic. Meanwhile, the attention to detail extends to the back of the timepiece. Here you can watch the Blancpain calibre 1315 in action, which is finely decorated including a blue rotor, a secret touch only revealed to the wearer. Limited to 188 pieces, it is available exclusively at Bucherer.
