Coombe End Manor

Less than 100 miles from London, Coombe End Manor is a private luxury retreat perfect for long weekends, celebrations and all-year-round holidays. The historic house dates back to the 15th century, when it started out as a monastery. Located down a tree-lined avenue, the property is set in a 2,500-acre private estate, just 6 miles from Cheltenham and Cirencester.

The house sleeps up to 18 in nine bedrooms, all individually designed with their own colour and pattern schemes. All have a classic look, cosy rugs and a double bed (except for the twin room). Bedrooms one, two, three, five, six, and seven all have en suites (five with bathtubs), while eight and nine share a bathroom with a bathtub and four has a wonderful roll-top bath in the bedroom.

Parts of the decor stretch back to the manor’s 15th-century beginnings, with stone walls and wood ceiling beams in the banqueting hall. The beautiful interior has a strong Regency feel, with grand bow windows, precious family antiques and an impressive art collection ranging from a portrait by Thomas Gainsborough, one of the most important British artists of the second half of the 18th century, to an abstract work by Joan Miró, an influential 20th-century Spanish painter and sculptor. Coombe End Manor has recently been under renovation, updating the premises to the highest standards for guests, while preserving its historic character.
