The smallest car in the world

The Peel P50 microcar is known as the smallest car in the world, big enough for one adult and a shopping bag. It won’t win any beauty pageants, but its size and quirky looks have given it cult status and fame, helped by Jeremy Clarkson driving one to his desk in the BBC Television Centre in an episode of Top Gear. Now you can buy it in kit form and assemble it yourself in around 50 hours. And given that the P50 can fit through doorways, it could be the perfect project for the spare room over the winter. Available in EV or petrol versions, the kit starts at £9,295.
