One of the most impressive and exciting supercars on the market now gets the wind-in-the-hair treatment. And as well as a rather high-speed blow dry, the newly released open-topped version will give lucky owners the chance to have clear, unfettered access to the sound of one of the finest V12 engines currently available… if not of all time. The engine is the star of the T.33 – Gordon Murray’s second car to get the Cosworth V12 after the halo T.50 hypercar. The T.33 version revs to an incredible 11,100rpm. Alongside the show-stopping engine with a spine-tingling soundtrack, the T.33 Spider gets the benefit of Murray’s genius of packaging and lightness.

It turns from ordinary T.33 to Spider courtesy of two glass panels that can be removed and a drop-down rear glass. No weighty folding mechanism means the Spider comes in at only 18kg heavier than the hard-top stable mate. This should ensure the cabriolet version drives as well as the coupe. A further advantage of the open top is the air intake snorkel on the rear deck is attached to the engine, so under acceleration it will shake, muscle car style, for added visual effect. With all of the supercar ingredients, Murray has not forgotten practicality – with the side compartments and frunk (front boot), this car has 295 litres of load space. Like all Gordon Murray Automotive cars, only 100 are built.
