One snag with an alcohol-free month is that if not everyone you know is doing it, you may be missing out on social occasions. Luckily, one of London’s cocktail bar groups, Mr Fogg’s, has laid on a menu of alcohol-free cocktails and to do this they’ve teamed up with non-alcoholic distilled spirit, Caleño.

Caleño is a tropical non-alcoholic spirit that bottles the vibrancy of Colombia – its Bristolian founder, Ellie Webb has Colombian heritage. It harnesses a range of tropical ingredients – think Inca berry, papaya and pineapple – to create a rum alternative (it comes in Light and Zesty and Dark and Spicy varieties). Accordingly, Mr Fogg’s has gone all out with a “Tropical Tales” theme to the mocktail list, to transport guests away from a winter of discontent! It’s all perfectly in keeping with the Round the World in 80 Days vibe of the bars.

The cocktails include a Botany Beauty (Caleño Light and Zesty, lavender syrup, lime juice); Before and After (Caleño Dark and Spicy, Martini Vibrante non-alcoholic aperitif, blueberry and blackcurrant cordial, lime, pink grapefruit soda) and A Robusta Distillation (Caleño Dark and Spicy, coffee, chestnut syrup) and are priced from £10. They are available till the end of January at Mr Fogg’s Residence and Mr Fogg’s Apothecary in Mayfair, Mr Fogg’s Society of Exploration, Mr Fogg’s Tavern and Mr Fogg’s Gin Parlour in Covent Garden and not forgetting Mr Fogg’s House of Botanicals in Fitzrovia. Cast aside your FOMO and keep your Dry January on track at the same time!
