A collection of the most prestigious spirit brands has come together to raise money for hospitality workers with an irresistible online auction of rare spirits and unique items and experiences. The William Grant & Sons #Standfast Charity Auction is now available to preview at Whisky Auction and bids will start on the 300 impressive lots on 19 July.
Contributions to the auction have come from William Grant & Sons brands including The Balvenie, Glenfiddich, Hendrick’s Gin, Sailor Jerry, Grant’s, Monkey Shoulder, Drambuie, Reyka Vodka and Tullamore DEW.
Lots include a Glenfiddich single malt whisky, which was never intended for public sale; a one-of-a-kind Morgan Roadster Vintage Car from The Balvenie; the chance to be the first to visit Hendrick’s Gin Palace in Scotland and meet master distiller Lesley Gracie; and the opportunity to work with The Balvenie’s malt master at the whisky distillery’s blending lab.
All proceeds from the auction will go to raise money for The Drinks Trust and The BEN Scotland. Both charities support people who work in the drinks business, and crucially those who have been negatively affected by lockdown and the Covid-19 crisis.
Ross Carter, CEO of The Drinks Trust, says, “This auction comes at a time where the drinks and hospitality industry is in need of assistance more than ever. We are truly grateful to William Grant & Sons for creating this one-of-a-kind #Standfast Charity Auction, which is set to deliver much-needed support to our industry that has been affected by the pandemic like no other.”
The #Standfast Charity Auction is available to preview now and will be live from 19 to 28 July on the Whisky Auction website. Registration is £5 and includes the chance to win an at-home cocktail party with the Monkey Shoulder mixer truck, a travelling cocktail bar that serves up delicious whisky cocktail concoctions
