Bremont teams up with Williams Racing for a boxed set of handsome timepieces that comes with a once-in-a-lifetime experience
As one of the few British names at the forefront of fine watchmaking, Bremont has long championed local brands that share its passion for engineering and precision. Williams Racing not only ticks these boxes, but is also conveniently located in the Oxfordshire countryside, where Bremont’s high-tech manufacturing facility, The Wing, is based. Together the duo has produced a new boxed set sure to appeal to racing and horological enthusiasts alike, comprising a pair of special watches and coming with once-in-a-lifetime experience for the owner.
The duo of timepieces represents the breadth of Bremont’s watchmaking, as well as both brands’ innovative approach and rich heritage. The sportier of the two, the FW44 Chrono, comes decked out in Williams Racing’s signature colour scheme, with a crisp white dial and flashes of Oxford blue and electric blue on the 12-hour counter. Its design references classic motoring chronographs, bolstered by features such as the 1970s-inspired hands. The choice of DLC coating for the 43mm stainless-steel case not only brings toughness and durability, but also echoes the treatment often used on racing car parts. Similarly, it comes on a soft and supple Alcantara textile strap, a material traditionally seen on racing car steering wheels.
Bremont FW44 Chrono
The FW44 Classic dials up the vintage feel further, taking its cues from dress watches of the Art Deco era. A pared-back three-hander with discreet date at 6 o’clock, it features a sleek two-tone incorporating the darker Oxford blue shade. Despite its sophisticated overall aesthetic, it comes with subtle touches that speak to its sporty origins, including the bold red seconds hand and the rotor decorated with Williams Racing logo, viewable via the open caseback.
The lucky owners of each of the 45 sets will also be hosted at Williams Racing’s HQ, Grove, for a behind-the-scenes look at the historic team. The experience will take in a guided tour, including a delve into the rich archives of the museum, as well as a sneak peek into the “mission control” room, from which the UK team reviews the Grand Prix races live and liaises with the on-location crew.
