Blue sky thinking: Piaget Altiplano Blue

Two handsome blue models join Piaget’s family of ultra-thin timepieces

Sophistication is a hallmark of Piaget’s horological creations, running from the understated elegance of their timepieces to the technically complex watchmaking that lies within. The Altiplano is one of the purest expressions of this ethos, bringing together pared-back aesthetics with a sleek ultra-thin design, achieved with some of the slimmest movements ever made.

Its latest additions to the family stay true to this innovative spirit, with two new limited-edition watches featuring captivating blue dials. Its hue is inspired by the beautiful clear night sky above the village of La Côte-aux-Fées (which means ‘fairy mountain’), Piaget’s home in Neuchâtel, Switzerland. The intense shade is punctuated only by the slender markers and baton-shaped hands in rose gold.

The two watches are presented in 38mm rose gold cases, offering the option of a pure, unadorned bezel or one intricately set with 78 diamonds. Unusually the gold cases are made in-house in Piaget’s workshop, a testament to the craftsmanship that goes into their watches. Each is limited to 300 pieces, and is powered by the renowned 430P calibre, measuring in at just 2.1mm thick.
