Moving past its codename , the new McLaren F1 successor has been named. Introducing, the McLaren Speedtail

The long rumoured, now confirmed, successor to the mighty McLaren F1 has recently moved past the codename stage and has been actually named, taking us one step closer to production.

Formerly known as project BP23, the centre driver, three-seater hypercar will be called ‘Speedtail’. Only 106 examples will be built and all have names against them despite no clear image being released yet. No doubt it will live up to its name but the moniker and car have some big boots to fill. Expect an almighty effort from the team at Woking.
