Founded by Gerry Ettinger in 1934, luxury accessories brand Ettinger is still family-owned, now run by Gerry’s eldest son, Robert Ettinger. As one of the few remaining British luxury leather goods companies still manufacturing in a factory in the UK, the brand combines traditional craftsmanship techniques with modern design to create timeless accessories that are as elegant as they are functional.

It is this innovative approach to combining tradition and contemporary style that has led Ettinger to work with Savile Row tailor Gieves & Hawkes, renowned for its military tailoring. Up until 1918, the Ettinger family were military tailors in Prussia and they made uniforms for the Kaiser and King of Prussia.

Now, Ettinger has opened its own accessories room in Gieves & Hawkes’ flagship store at No.1 Savile Row, enabling Gieves & Hawkes customers to browse its extensive range of leather goods, including leather business bags, portfolios, totes and wallets, and canvas and leather overnight and weekend bags.

The Ettinger Accessories Room is located in the middle of the Gieves & Hawkes store and there is also a craftsmanship and archive display so customers can learn more about how the products are made at Ettinger’s factory in the Midlands.

‘Both companies specialise in products for men – Gieves in tailoring and us accessories. Making things that are beautifully crafted and manufactured to last is rooted in our heritage; we are both Royal Warrant holders with a lot of history, and it seemed sensible to join forces,’ explains Robert Ettinger. ‘Gieves & Hawkes customers mostly go into the store to buy a suit or other clothing, whereas Ettinger products are smaller and more accessible, making ideal gifts.’
