We’ve all heard the adage that a dog is a man’s best friend, but for those truly fond of their pooch there’s now a way to wear your adoration on your sleeve. Deakin & Francis, a centuries-old jeweller based in Birmingham’s jewellery quarter, has introduced a new collection of cufflinks featuring designs of 23 of the most popular canine breeds, from border terriers to Dalmatians and Chihuahuas.

Each piece in the Fine Hounds range, retailing at £300, sees the dog’s head crafted out of sterling silver and completed with sparkling blue cabochon sapphire eyes. With each purchase made, a donation of 10 per cent will be made to the Dog’s Trust, an animal welfare charity that specialises in rehabilitating and rehoming dogs.
